What goes into a CSGOSkinSites star score
Every star rating you see on CSGOSkinSites is a blended score built from four independent signal sources, weighted to reduce gaming and reward consistent operator behaviour over time:
- First-party player reviews (60% weight) — verified submissions made by logged-in users who can prove an active account on the site they are reviewing.
- Trustpilot mirroring (20% weight) — we re-crawl public Trustpilot pages daily and integrate the raw rating distribution. Sites without a Trustpilot page have this weight redistributed.
- Reddit sentiment scoring (10% weight) — r/csgobetting, r/GlobalOffensive and r/CryptoGambling threads are sentiment-classified weekly. Persistent payout complaints push a score down.
- Editor verification (10% weight) — our reviewer panel deposits, plays and withdraws from each operator quarterly. This catches issues that volume reviews miss.
Player review verification
Before any user review is published and counted, it passes through a four-step verification stack:
- Account proof. Reviewers connect a wallet address, Steam ID or screenshot the in-site account profile that matches a deposit they have made within the last 90 days.
- Device fingerprinting. Browser fingerprint, IP range and timing patterns are checked against existing reviewer profiles to block sock-puppet farms.
- Incentive filter. Reviews that copy promotional text, link to referral codes, or appear in tight time clusters around a site's bonus campaigns are automatically held for editorial check.
- Editor moderation. Anything flagged by the automated filters goes to a human reviewer before being published or rejected.
Around 12% of submitted reviews are rejected before they ever appear on a brand profile, which is why our published review counts are lower than the aggregate volume Trustpilot shows for some sites.
How the 5-star score is calculated
For each brand we calculate a weighted mean of all verified review scores received in the last 180 days, then blend that with the four-signal stack above. Older reviews are not discarded entirely — they decay linearly to a floor of 25% influence at the 18-month mark, so a site's long-term reputation still matters but doesn't trap operators in a stale score.
Decimals are reported to one place (for example 4.9 / 5). When two brands tie on the rounded score, the leaderboard breaks the tie using total verified review count, then by the share of 5-star reviews.
Why CSGOFast leads the index
CSGOFast holds the #1 spot with 4.9 stars from 8,247 verified reviews. The score is driven by three factors: operator longevity (active since 2016, nearly nine years of continuous payout history), game-mode breadth (13 distinct modes covered by a single account), and the largest review base in our entire index, which makes the score more statistically robust than smaller brands. No brand has been able to displace it from the top of the leaderboard in the last six update cycles.
How often ratings update
Star scores re-aggregate every 24 hours at 00:00 UTC. New verified reviews enter the calculation immediately. Major events — a confirmed payout incident, a license change, a Reddit thread that crosses 500 upvotes — trigger an out-of-cycle re-score so the leaderboard reflects reality within hours, not days.
What disqualifies a brand from the index
CSGOSkinSites will remove a brand from the leaderboard for any of: (a) confirmed exit-scam pattern, (b) loss of all public licensing, (c) more than 30 consecutive days without processed withdrawals, or (d) operator request after acquisition or rebrand. Removed brands keep an archived profile for transparency but receive no new reviews.
Editorial independence
Affiliate revenue helps fund CSGOSkinSites but does not influence ratings. Brands cannot pay to alter their score, change their leaderboard position, or remove published negative reviews. Editor reviews are clearly labelled and kept separate from the user review feed. When we link to a brand we may earn a commission if you sign up — this never changes the score or the order of the leaderboard.
